And if you’re curious, find out who the newcomers to Villa Feria are!
Once upon a time… the Villa Feria adventure
theVilla Feria adventure began a little over a year ago. My husband and I created this company with the aim of sharing our own experience of moving to Portugal and helping foreigners with all the formalities involved in expatriation and buying a house/second home.
The creation of the blog, in parallel, was an obvious choice, as it enabled us to divulge practical information and introduce Portugal to as many readers as possible, all through the eyes of an expatriate.
Many people have placed their trust in us, and more and more of you are doing so, for which we thank you. To continue providing you with a personalized, responsive service, we’ve decided to expand our team by adding 4 new members to Villa Feria, each more motivated than the last to share their experience, their love of Portugal and their expertise in their respective fields.
So I’m handing over the reins to our new blogger, Anne-Sophie, who will be writing the articles for this blog from now on. Coincidentally, she has the same profile as me: French with a Franco-Portuguese partner. But that’s all I’m going to tell you – Anne-Sophie will introduce you to our new team with a lot of humour and a few personal anecdotes 😉
A happy event has taken place…
Last week, while some of us were busy choosing the perfect Carnival costume, and others were desperately searching for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for their loved one, at Villa Feria there was a different kind of excitement. A happy event was about to take place, and the family was about to grow!
On February 13 at 10:00 a.m., the parents met their new tribe. 4 merry men and women joined Villa Feria.
This new gang, with their different profiles, nevertheless have something in common: their love for Portugal, their experience of buying property here and their desire to help, accompany and reassure people who want to live the same experience as they do.
First meeting with the whole team!
Let’s meet the protagonists of the Villa Feria story.
Of course, there would be no story without the “big bosses”, the parents, the creators of Villa Feria: Virginie & Greg
In the introduction to this article, Virginie reminded you of their beautiful history with Portugal and why Villa Feria and the blog were born. The missions of the “big bosses” are, among many others, the following:
Greg’s mission: to make sure the new tribe is well brought up, to scold them for misbehavior, to manage the “family budget”, to manage the IT tools, the website and to work with the best local companies to offer customers 5-star service.
A little secret about Greg: he’s already run five marathons! Not bad, eh?
One of Greg’s greatest moments: the report on BFM TV!
Virginie’s mission: always ready to listen, she is the main point of contact between you and the company. Through an in-depth diagnosis, she understands your needs, answers your questions, guides you and is present throughout your installation process. She knows the real estate market in Portugal inside out, so she can suggest properties that match your wishes, saving you time.
A little secret about Virginie: she loves parachute jumping! What courage!
Since the creation of Villa Feria, Virginie has already presented the company to a consul, a Portuguese secretary of state and a member of parliament!
Let me now introduce you to the four new recruits adopted by Villa Feria.
For once, I’m going to start the introduction of the new recruits with a man: Jules, who will reinforce the men’s team alongside Greg (we have to pamper the two men in our very feminine team)
Jules is from Brittany and is a specialist in the Lisbon and Greater Lisbon real estate market.
He decided to settle in Portugal because two things are vital to his life: the sea and the sun, and in Brittany, he had the sea but … (I won’t say any more because I risk alienating the people of Brittany).
His mission: to find the right property for you in the dynamic markets of Lisbon and its outskirts.
A little secret about him: when he was 15, he took a boat halfway around the world! Incredible, isn’t it?
Jules, responsible for the Lisbon and suburbs region
Let’s move on now to the bubbly Johanna, the real estate “buying” specialist for the Algarve, that beautiful region in the south of Portugal.
Johanna is French, and knows the Algarve very well, having lived there for two years and just bought an apartment.
Her mission: to find THE Algarve real estate nugget that will make you fall in love.
Little secret about her: she’s about to say “Ouiiii” to her beloved!
Johanna, Algarve region manager
Another important member of the new Villa Feria family is Katythe youngest daughter, who loves being the youngest!
Katy is of Portuguese origin, but was born and lived in France until recently. She decided to reconnect with her origins by moving to Portugal for good a few months ago.
Her mission : for those who aren’t ready to buy, Katy’s sympathetic approach and knowledge of the rental market will guide you through the process of renting a property in Portugal.
A little secret about her: she’s been practicing Portuguese folk dancing for over 15 years and will surely be able to show you a few steps if you ask her.
Katy, responsible for rentals in Portugal.
And finally, me, Anne-Sophie, Villa Feria marketing manager and blog editor.
I’m French, and I’ve lived in several countries, but 5 years ago I fell in love with Portugal at first sight, and I’ve never left. I’ve seen this little country grow and evolve in just a few years, and I’m still as much in love with it as ever.
My mission: to help you get to know and love Portugal through a critical, transparent and fun perspective!
Little secret about me : I’m such a bad cook that I burn at least one pan every week!
Anne-Sophie, marketing manager and blog editor.
